History

In 2018, two non-profit art groups in Contra Costa County, Las Juntas Art Association and East Bay Artists Guild, merged and continue their mission of supporting artists and art in the community as Las Juntas~East Bay Artists Guild (LJ~EBAG).

The Las Juntas ~ East Bay Artists Guild is a non-profit organization dedicated to the success of artists and committed to integrating the benefits of art and art appreciation into communities since 2006. Based in Pleasant Hill, California, LJ~EBAG supports artists throughout Contra Costa County. The Guild is committed to promoting artistic success and fostering cultural appreciation within the community. Highlighting "emerging artists, local talent, and collectible art" offers opportunities for creative growth, public engagement, and collaboration. Through exhibitions, educational programs, and community events, LJ~EBAG aims to enrich the region’s cultural life and connect people through the power of art.

General Meeting

A general meeting for all members is held on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill (excluding November and December). Art & Community

We bring art into the community through exhibitions and community art events. Our store window art exhibitions, utilizing downtown commercial buildings, offer artists the opportunity to showcase their work in a high-profile, public setting.

Promoting Art Education

At our members’ monthly meetings, we invite guest speakers, provide art demonstrations, and offer critiques. Community outreach programs are designed to promote public art education and appreciation.
